Sheet vinyl or vinyl tiles? Sheet comes off a roll and is cut to the shape of your room, so there are few or no joins for water to find — which is why it suits bathrooms. Tiles and planks are laid piece by piece, give you more pattern choice, and let a damaged one be lifted and replaced without touching the rest of the floor.
Kitchens and bathrooms are what we fit most. Polyflor and Altro both make vinyl built for rooms that get wet and walked on, including safety flooring with slip resistance built into the surface for a utility room, a shop floor or anywhere that stays damp.
The subfloor comes first. Vinyl is thin and it shows whatever is underneath it, so an uneven or loose floor has to be made good before anything is laid. We will tell you at the quote whether yours needs levelling or latexing, and that work is priced separately, as are uplift and disposal of the old floor, gripper and door bars, and moving furniture. Nothing is assumed to be included.
Fitting is usually within one to two weeks of ordering, with 50% on order and the balance when the job is finished. Free measuring within about 10 miles of the showroom. If you would rather fit it yourself, we supply only and deliver across Essex and Suffolk, usually within 3–5 days of ordering, with delivery charged.

Questions people ask
Is vinyl alright in a bathroom?
Yes — it is one of the things we fit most. Sheet vinyl is the usual choice there because it is cut to the room with few or no joins, so there is nowhere for water to get underneath.
Can you lay vinyl over an old floor?
Sometimes, if what is down is sound, flat and firmly stuck. More often the old floor comes up first, because vinyl is thin enough to show every lump and ridge underneath it. We will tell you which it is when we measure.
How long does a vinyl floor last?
It depends far more on the subfloor and the fitting than on the vinyl itself. A floor laid on a properly prepared base in a normal household lasts many years; one laid over a poor subfloor shows wear along the ridges long before the vinyl is worn out.
